Explanation

  • To promote a product is to advertise it (= tell people about it so that they'll buy it).

    Promotion (uncountable) is the act of advertising a product.

    A promotion (countable) is a particular advertisement or set of advertisements.
  • promote は、ある製品を買ってもらえるように、その製品について人々に伝える、つまり、宣伝する、という意味です。

    promotion は数えられない名詞として使った場合、製品を宣伝する行為をさします。

    promotion を数えられる名詞として使った場合は、特定の宣伝、あるいは一連の宣伝のことをさします。
