- To recognize someTHING a person does (i.e., hard work, a good idea, or success at something) - or to recognize someONE FOR someTHING - is to show that you are aware of and appreciate what they do.
The noun form is recognition. - recognize とは、ある人が行った困難な仕事、よいアイディア、または何かにおける成功を認める、あるいは、それを認識し、正当に評価する、という意味です。
