From the look of things, it appears the WordMaster isn't the only one with high standards! But don't let your standards become too high, or you'll be opening yourself up to workplace stress.

Today's Lesson


  • A perfectionist is someone who isn't satisfied unless everything is perfect (= exactly right).
  • perfectionist とは、全てのことが完璧でないと満足しない人、つまり、完璧主義者のことです。



  1. He's always been a perfectionist, which is why it takes him so long to finish anything.
  2. In order to be a really great pastry chef, I think you have to be a bit of a perfectionist.
  3. If you want to make sure the job is done right, you should have Eric do it. He has a reputation for being an absolute perfectionist.
  4. The ideal copy editor should be detail-oriented and a real perfectionist.
