Today's LessonCATEGORY:

  • An outlet or electrical outlet is a device, usually in a wall, with small holes for connecting equipment to the power supply.

Be Careful! The word “consent” is NOT used like the Japanese コンセント to mean outlet.

  1. a: I brought my boombox so we can listen to music while we work. Where's the outlet?
    b: It's behind the desk.
  2. You shouldn't use the same outlet for both the space heater and the toaster oven. It's dangerous!
  3. We've put covers on all the electrical outlets so that our baby can't stick her fingers into the holes.
