For Life
2003.03.11

From the time of Edison and Marconi, electricity has brought the voices, music, and sounds of the world into our homes. Here's a recent form these talking and singing machines have taken.

Explanation

  • A boombox is a portable stereo with two speakers and a handle for carrying. It usually includes a radio, plus a CD player, MD player, and/or cassette player.

    Be careful:
The expression "radio cassette player", like the Japanese ラジカセ, is sometimes used in English; however, it is very general, used to talk about boomboxes as well as in-home stereo components and smaller devices, like a Sony Walkman.

Take care!
