Explanation

  • A wedding reception is a formal party to celebrate a new marriage.

    Be Careful! Using the expression “wedding party” to talk about a wedding reception can be confusing. The “wedding party” is also the GROUP OF PEOPLE who take an active part in a wedding ceremony, including the maid of honor, bridesmaids, best man, groomsmen, etc.
  • wedding reception は、新婚の2人を祝うためのフォーマルなパーティー、つまり、結婚披露宴のことです。

    注意： wedding party と wedding reception を、混同しないようにしましょう。wedding party は、結婚式に積極的に参加する人のグループのことです。maid of honor（花嫁に付き添う女性のうちの一番主な人）、bridesmaids（花嫁に付き添う他の女性たち）、best man（花婿に付き添う男性のうちの一番主な人）、groomsmen（花婿に付き添う他の男性たち）などが含まれます。
