Hello! As you know, we're talking about weddings all this week, and today we meet the stars of our show!

Today's LessonCATEGORY:
BRIDE / GROOM

  • The bride and groom are the woman and man who get married during a wedding.

Be Careful! We always say “the bride and groom”, in that order. “The groom and bride” sounds unnatural.

the groom and bride

  1. (a minister to the groom)
    You may kiss the bride.
  2. (someone watching a wedding)
    What a beautiful bride!
  3. I've always wanted to be a June bride.
  4. a: Who's that over there?
b: That's the mother of the groom.
  5. The bride and groom looked very happy as they walked down the aisle together.
