Today's LessonCATEGORY:
MAKE YOUR MOUTH WATER

Explanation

  • If food makes your mouth water, it looks, smells, or (when described) sounds delicious.

Be Careful! Literally, if food makes your mouth water, it causes a lot of saliva to be produced in your mouth because you're looking forward to eating it. This doesn't have to actually happen, however, for you to use the expression.

Food that is mouth-watering looks, smells, or tastes delicious.
  • make your mouth water
