- The annual school event called 運動会 in Japan can be called a sports day or field day.
Three popular sports day events are:
three-legged race
obstacle course
tug-of-war - 毎年行われる学校行事で、日本で言う運動会は、sports day または field day と言います。
３つの代表的な運動会の競技は、
three-legged race 二人三脚
obstacle course 障害物競走
tug-of-war 綱引き
です。
- Yoshiko's elementary school is having its sports day next Saturday. Yoshiko would be so happy if you came.
- My son is running in the three-legged race and obstacle course at his sports day at school.
- The red team has won at our annual sports day for the last five years in a row.
- The final event of the field day was a tug-of-war between the teachers and the students.
