Explanation

  • A study, technique, description, etc. is quantitative if it uses or deals with numbers or the measurement of amounts.

    A property, difference, change, etc. is quantitative if it can be measured or expressed as a number.
  • 調査や技術、記述などにおいて quantitative と言うと、数値や量の測定値による、つまり、量的な、という意味になります。

    また、性質や差異、変化などにおいて quantitative と言うと、数値として測定できる、あるいは表現できることを表す、つまり、定量的な、という意味になります。

  1. The combination of 21st-century precision measurement and awesome computing power has vastly increased the possibilities for quantitative research.
  2. Takeshi prefers using quantitative methods in his work, particularly because of his strong mathematical background.

    The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (preferably a Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or engineering.
  4. Is there only a quantitative difference between the human brain and that of other animals? Do we simply have MORE intelligence, or do we actually have a different KIND of intelligence?
  5. Don't just SAY that you were good at your job and had a lot of responsibility. Show them with objective, quantitative measures like performance-review scores, sales figures, number of direct reports, and size of annual budget.
