HURT 痛む、傷つける
- If a part of your body hurts, you feel pain there.
To hurt someone or a part of their body is to injure them or cause them pain. - hurt (自動詞)は、体の一部に痛みを感じる、つまり、痛むという意味です。
hurt (他動詞) someone または hurt (他動詞) a part of someone’s body は、人に怪我をさせたり、痛みを起こさせたりする、という意味です。
- My head hurts. Do you have any aspirin?
- (at a doctor's office)
DOCTOR: Does it hurt when I press here?
PATIENT: Yes, it hurts a little. - a: Is your dog friendly?
b: Of course. He won't hurt you. - Be careful with that knife or you'll hurt yourself.
- (Bob has bandages on his leg)
JANE: What happened to your leg?
BOB: I hurt my knee playing football.
