EXPIRE 期限が切れる
- Something - for example, a passport, contract, or membership - expires when it ends or becomes invalid.
The noun form is expiration. - expire とは、パスポートや契約、会員資格などの期限が終了する、または無効になる、という意味です。
名詞形は expiration で、期間満了、失効、という意味です。
- Our contract with the company expires in April, and we're not sure whether they'll continue to order from us after that.
- I forgot to apply for a new driver's license before the old one expired, so I had to take the driver's exam all over again.
- It wasn't until I got to the airport that I realized my passport had expired.
- We just received a letter notifying us that our lease is due to expire in January and that we'll have to pay a $1500 fee when we renew.
- Don't serve these cookies to clients anymore. The expiration date on the tin was almost two weeks ago.
