Have you ever taken a close look at really top-notch writing? Whether it's a persuasive advertisement, a moving speech, or a solid proposal, you can't help but appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into its creation. OUTLINE   概略を述べる、概要

Explanation

  • To outline (verb) a subject, story, talk, etc., is to give the main points or facts about it without giving details.

    An outline (noun) is a description of this kind.
  • 何らかのテーマ、物語、講演などについて outline (動詞) と言う場合、詳細を省いて、要点や事実だけを伝える、つまり、概略を述べる、という意味です。

    名詞の outline は、そのような説明、つまり、概要のことです。

  1. (speaker at a meeting)
    Today I'll be outlining the most important aspects of our new privacy policy.
  2. The report briefly outlines the company's history, mission, and goals, then describes in greater detail recent progress in achieving those goals.
  3. I haven't made much progress with my talk for the conference yet. I've only written an outline.
  4. Let's prepare a written outline of the main points of our proposal so that people can refer to it during our presentation.
  5. Of course, I only have time to give you a broad outline of the subject. But if you'd like to learn more, I can recommend some additional reading.
