(MAIN) POINT   (重要な)論点

Explanation

  • A point is an idea, opinion, or fact in a speech, written text, discussion, etc.

    A main point is one of the most important points.
  • point とは、話や文章、議論などに含まれる考えや意見、事実、つまり、論点のことです。

    main point は、重要な論点、という意味です。

(MAIN) POINT

examples

  1. I have a question about the first point in your proposal.
  2. In his talk at the symposium, Dr. Ridges made an interesting point about recent changes in corporate tax law.
  3. Did you read the college newsletter? The editor made some good points about the need to reduce the amount of homework given to students.
  4. The committee examined your proposal point by point, and they were very impressed.
  5. (giving a presentation)
    This first slide lists the main points of my talk.
  6. It's enough for you to understand the main points. Don't bother about the details.
