Greetings!

This week's theme is simple and always relevant - “Giving Thanks”!

Today's LessonCATEGORY:
THANK YOU FOR (the card/coming)

Explanation

  • We can say “thank you” to someone FOR something - for example, “Thank you for the card” - or FOR DOING something - for example, “Thank you for coming.”

Be Careful! When saying “thank you” to someone for doing something, we usually do NOT use “your” before the “-ing” form of the verb; for example, we do NOT say, “Thank you for YOUR coming.”

Thank you for YOUR coming. ではなく、Thank you for coming.
