Explanation

  • To waste money, time, paper, etc. is to use more than is necessary or to not use it well.
  • waste とは、お金や時間、紙など、何かを必要以上に使う、または上手に使わない、という意味です。

  1. You shouldn't waste so much water. Turn off the faucet when you brush your teeth.
  2. I always try to eat everything on my plate. My parents taught me not to waste food.

  5. My boss tells us to make double-sided copies so we don't waste paper.
