There are many ways to prepare for a job. You can get an advanced degree, do an internship, or pay your dues in an entry-level position. But once you've acquired that valuable set of skills and knowledge, you'll be like a lovely, ripe piece of fruit, which employers will be scrambling over each other to pick! Just be careful not to become TOO ripe!
QUALIFIED / OVER QUALIFIED
資格、能力のある / 仕事が必要とする以上に教育（訓練）を受けている（経験がある）
- To be qualified is to have the knowledge, skills, or experience necessary for a particular job.
To be overqualified is to have MORE knowledge, skills, or experience than is necessary or desirable for a particular job. - qualified とは、ある仕事に必要とされる知識、技能、経験などを有している、という意味です。
overqualified というと、ある仕事に必要とされる、または妥当である以上の知識、技能、経験を有している、という意味になります。
- She's certainly well qualified for the job; she earned a master's degree in computer science at the Berlitz Institute of Technology and has 5 years' work experience as a systems engineer.
