Speaking of times of the year, we thought this would be a good time to do a series on the word “time”. ... Time to begin, don't you think?

Explanation

  • To have a good time is to enjoy yourself.

    We can replace “good” with other words, like “great”, “nice”, and “wonderful”.

    We can also replace “time” with other words - for example, “weekend”, “holiday”, “birthday”, etc. - to tell someone to enjoy themself over the weekend, during the holiday, on their birthday, etc.

    Be Careful! These expressions are often used when saying goodbye.
  • have a good time は、楽しむという意味です。

    good を great や nice、wonderful に置き換えてもよいでしょう。

    time を、weekend や holiday、birthday などに置き換えれば、楽しい週末、休暇、誕生日などを過ごすと言うことができます。

    注意：以上の表現は、別れの挨拶としてもよく使われます。
