Greetings! Happy Valentine's Day, the start of many a beautiful relationship! And speaking of relationships, many experts claim that the single most important factor in maintaining a healthy one is communication - a finding that makes us feel awfully good about out our job here at Berlitz WordMaster!
Well, as luck would have it, communication just happens to be our theme for the week. So let's get talking!
CONTACT 連絡をとる
- To contact (v.) someone or to be in contact with someone is to communicate with them, especially by phone, e-mail, etc.
The noun form is also contact. - contact （動詞）または、be in contact with というと、特に電話やメールなどを使って、相手と連絡をとる、という意味です。
名詞形も contact で、連絡、という意味です。
- (on the phone)
a: I've been trying to contact you all day.
b: Sorry, I've been out of the office. - We've been in daily contact with Jennifer since she left for Lisbon.
- Do you still keep in contact with anyone from the old neighborhood?
- (recent graduate during a job hunt)
The Alumni Office put me in contact with other graduates from the university who are already working in advertising. - a: Have you had any contact with Yoshi at the Nagoya branch?
b: I've only met him once, at last year's annual meeting.
