Could there be a more appropriate expression for one of the hardest jobs a woman ever has to do?

LABOR 陣痛、分娩
- Labor is the period of time during which a baby is pushed out from its mother's body. In other words, from the time that the pains begin to the time the baby is born.
- labor は、赤ん坊が母親の体内から押し出される過程、つまり、陣痛が始まってから赤ん坊が産まれるまでのことで、陣痛、分娩、という意味です。
- a: How's Nancy doing? Is the baby born yet?
b: Not yet. Nancy's still in labor. - I was in labor for 15 hours with my first baby.
- Junko went into labor in the middle of the night.
- When a woman is having a difficult labor, she's sometimes given medication to lessen the pain.
- (on the phone to the hospital)
MAN: My wife's labor pains have begun.
NURSE: OK. Just relax and bring her to the hospital as soon as you can.
