Explanation

  • To overdo it or to overdo things is to do or use too much of something.
  • overdo it または overdo things とは、何かをやり過ぎたり、使い過ぎる、という意味です。

    b: Oh, I pulled another muscle jogging.
    a: You know, it's good to push yourself, but don't overdo it.
  2. (salesman after failing to make a sale)
    I think I may have overdone it a little. I should have used a softer sell.
  3. (to a co-worker before meeting a new client)
    I know Miranda thought it would be good to put on some cologne for this meeting, but don't you think you're overdoing it a little?
  4. I come from a family of overachievers. When it comes to work and study, we have a tendency to overdo things.
