2008.07.28(Review of 2005.08.23 edition)

Greetings, and welcome to the second half of our series on Job-Hunting! This week we'll guide you from job opening to job interview. The rest, of course, is up to you!

Today's Lesson
(job) OPENING   求人

  • A job opening is a job that is available.
  • job opening とは、現在募集中の仕事のことをいいます。

  1. Did you see the job opening at Berlitz Foods in the want ads today?
  2. (on the phone with a company's personnel department)
I'm calling about the job opening for a project director in your international division.
  3. (personnel manager to someone asking about employment)
I'm sorry, but we don't have any openings at the moment. I'll keep your resume on file, however, in case anything opens up.
  4. (want ad)
We have an opening for a highly motivated sales representative with a proven track record of success.
