Explanation

  • A mall is a very large building with many stores, restaurants, and other businesses inside.

    A strip mall is a row of stores, restaurants, and other businesses (often separate units in the same long building), usually with a shared parking lot in front.

    Anchor store is retail jargon for a large, well-known retail store (especially a department store) located in a mall. Such stores are meant to bring in many customers who will shop at the other stores in the mall as well.
  • mall とは、たくさんの店舗やレストラン、その他の企業が入っている巨大な建物のことです。

    strip mall とは、店舗やレストラン、その他の企業(建物の中が細かく区分されています)が入っている、小さなショッピングモールのことです。たいていは表に共用の駐車場があります。

    anchor store とは、小売業界の用語で、ショッピングモールに入っている、大きくて有名な小売店(特にデパート)をさします。これらの店は、モール内の他店でも買い物をする、多くの客を呼び寄せることが期待されています。
