Hi! How did you spend your day off yesterday? ... Yes, the time did go by quickly, didn't it? Well, never mind - a four-day weekend is just around the corner. But we've got a lot of learning to do before then, so let's continue where we left off on Monday, shall we?


HAVE IN MIND   計画がある、~しようと考えている
- To have something or somebody in mind is to be thinking about them for a particular purpose.
- have ~ in mind は、ある目的のために、~しようと考えている、つまり、何か(だれか)のことを考えている、という意味です。

- a: Would you like to get together with us this weekend?
 b: Sure. What did you have in mind?
- a: What kind of car are you looking for?
 b: I had in mind a red convertible.
- (customer to store clerk) 
 a: I'm looking for a gift for my wife. It's her birthday.
 b: Did you have anything in particular in mind?
- (movie producers) 
 a: Do you have anyone in mind to play Hamlet?
 b: I was thinking to ask Maximilian Berlitz if he was interested in the role.
