KILL TIME 暇をつぶす
- To kill time is to do something in order to use up the time while you are waiting for something else.
- kill time は、別のことを待っている間に何かをして時間を過ごす、つまり、暇をつぶす、という意味です。
- (in front of a movie theater at 6:10 p.m.)
a: The man at the box office said the next show doesn't start until 7:30.
b: Then let's kill some time at the video arcade. - (two friends at a convenience store magazine rack)
a: What are you doing here?
b: Oh, just killing time. - We had some time to kill before our flight, so we looked around the souvenir shops.
