Descartes said, “I think; therefore, I am.”
Today's WordMaster says, “I don't think; therefore, accidents are!”
(do) WITHOUT THINKING 無意識に、何も考えずに
- To do something without thinking is to do something before considering it carefully or to do something and not know that you are doing it (for example, because it's a habit).
- without thinking とは、深く考えずに何かをしている、または、(例えば、習慣になっているために)自分がしていることに気づかずに、無意識に何かをしている状態を表します。
- I didn't mean to send everyone that e-mail. I hit the “Reply All” button without thinking.
- I forgot how cold the water is at this time of the year. I jumped into the lake without even thinking.
- I'm sorry. It is a rather embarrassing picture of you. I just showed it to your parents without thinking.
- a: How many times have I told you not to slam the door!?
b: Sorry. I do it without thinking.
It's been fun!
