  • If someone is polite, they have good manners and act in a way that shows they are considerate of other people.
  • polite とは、行儀がよく、他の人への思いやりを示すような行動を取る、という意味です。


  1. (a mother to her children before a visit from their aunt)
    Be polite to your aunt while she's here. Remember, she's our guest.
  2. a: That wasn't very polite.
    b: I know, but I was angry. I'll apologize to her later.
  3. The hotel employees were so kind and polite. They really treated me like a queen.
  4. If one of your classmates bothers you, just politely ask him to stop.
