ALCOHOL   酒、アルコール

Explanation

  • Alcohol is what we call drinks such as beer, wine, and whiskey. It is also the specific ingredient in such drinks that causes you to feel happy or relaxed.
  • alcohol は、ビール、ワイン、ウイスキーなどの飲み物のことを言います。また、こうした飲み物に入っている特定の成分で、飲んだ人を幸せな気分にしたり、リラックスさせたりする成分としてのアルコールをさすこともあります。

  1. a: Would you like a beer?
    b: No thanks. I don't drink alcohol.
  2. (a store clerk to a 17-year old)
    I'm sorry, but we can't sell alcohol to minors.
  3. Most beers are about 4 to 6% alcohol. Red, white, and sparkling wines contain about 10 to 14% alcohol.
