  • To hang up is to break the phone connection; for example, after finishing a phone conversation.
  • hang up は、会話が終わったあとなどに、電話を切るという意味です。


  1. (on the phone)
    I can't hear you - there's too much noise. I'll hang up and call you back from another phone.
  2. I've never used a cell phone before. Which button do I push to hang up?
  3. (on the phone)
    a: Well, I've got to go. See ya!
    b: Wait! Don't hang up yet!
  4. You hung up without saying goodbye!
