  • To raise  a family is to have a child or children and care for them until they're old enough to take care of themselves.

    We can also say raise  a child, raise  a son, etc.
  • raise  a family は、子供を産んで、彼らが一人前の大人になるまで世話をする、つまり、子育てをする、という意味です。

    raise  a child、raise  a son などと言うこともできます。


  1. All I've ever wanted was to raise  a family.  
  2. It's hard work raising  two boys.
  3. I was raised  in a large family. I had three brothers and two sisters.
  4. I was born and raised  in Hokkaido, so I'm used to cold weather.
  5. My daughter was born in the Philippines and raised  in Japan.
