Explanation

  • The thaw is the period of warmer weather, usually in or around spring, when the snow and ice from the winter melts away.

Something that is frozen thaws when it becomes soft or liquid again because of a rise in temperature.

To thaw something that is frozen is to cause it to become soft or liquid again by increasing its temperature.
