- A kite is a toy made of a light frame covered with paper, plastic, or cloth. It is made to float on the wind while held with a string.
To fly a kite is to make it float on the wind. We also say that a kite flies. - kite は、紙やビニール、布などに、軽い骨組みをつけたもので、紐で引っ張りながら風を利用して空にあげるもの、つまり、凧のことです。
fly a kite は、凧をあげる、という意味です。a kite flies （凧はあがる）という言い方もします。
