Good to see you! Yesterday we talked about Public Enemy No. 1 - disease. Today we remind ourselves that, in many cases, disease comes from some of the smallest living things on the planet. Yes, these invisible creatures are certainly more to be feared than the largest lions, bears, or snakes!

Explanation

  • A germ is a very small living thing (microorganism), such as a bacterium or virus, that can cause disease.
  • germ は、病気の原因となるバクテリアやウィルスのような、とても小さな生き物(微生物)のことです。

examples

  1. Towels are a good way to spread germs, so never share a towel with someone who is sick.
  2. I always wash my hands when I get home to get rid of the germs I pick up on the train.
  3. Medical instruments are often washed in alcohol to kill germs.
  4. (a girl to her sick boyfriend)
I'd kiss you goodbye, but I don't want to get your germs.
  5. I don't think you should see me while I'm sick. I don't want to give you my < germs.

Be careful out there!
