"Not until a time" means that something does NOT happen before that time. This pattern is often used when you want to say that something happens later than wanted or later than expected.

not until a timeは、ある時までは何かが起こらないという意味です。このパターンは、期待したり予期したりした時間より後で物事が起こる状況について言いたいときによく使われます。


1. We got to the doctor's office at 9 a.m., but the doctor was not able to see us until 11.30.

2. Do not start the meeting until everyone arrives. We need everyone's input on this matter.

3. I did not meet Jenny until my third year in college. I wish I had met her sooner.
