Nothing means not one thing.
No one means not one person.

Nothing and no one are used with a singular verb.

nothingは何もないこと、no oneは誰も~ないという意味です。 

どちらも単数扱いで、動詞もそれに合わせます。


1. There's nothing in this drawer. It's empty.

2. I have nothing to wear at the beach. I'll have to buy a swimsuit before we go to Hawaii.

3. There's no one in the office. Everyone must be at lunch.

4. No one ate the potato salad. It smelled really bad.
